AAB Sweetener is an amino acid based sweetener made from constituents of
protein commonly found in food. It has a sweetness very similar in
quality to sugar with a clean after-taste.
Is AAB Sweetener safe for consumption?
AAB Sweetener is absolutely safe for consumption. It has been
approved by the FAO / WHO’s Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives
(JECFA) and is used in more than 100 countries worldwide including
Japan.
Currently used in over 5,000 products, AAB Sweetener’s
digestion, absorption and metabolism process is similar to that of
protein from our diet. It is broken down in our body into aspartic
acid and phenylalanine (both are amino acids).
The acceptable daily intake of AAB Sweetener as recommended
by JECFA is 40 mg/kg of body weight making 2 gm (the amount of AAB
Sweetener contained in 40 sachets of My Cappuccino) the approved
daily intake volume for a person weighing 50 kg.
Why use AAB Sweetener in My Cappuccino?
AAB Sweetener is a
very low calorie sweetener and is almost identical in sweetness
to sugar. It has approximately 200 times the sweetness of the
same amount of sucrose (table sugar) but has only 1/180 times
the kcal. It therefore does not contribute to calorie intake.
AAB Sweetener does
not have ingredients that can cause dental caries.
AAB Sweetener does
not affect blood sugar and insulin levels. My Cappuccino is
therefore suitable for diabetics and weight watchers.
AAB Sweetener is
very stable at boiling temperature (100 °C). It is
therefore perfect for use in My Cappuccino.
AAB Sweetener has
flavour enhancing effects. It enhances the aroma of My
Cappuccino.
Who are Phenylketonurics?
They are people suffering from phenylketonuria, an inherited defect in protein metabolism causing an excess of the essential amino acid, phenylalanine to build up in the blood which damages the nervous system and leads to severe mental retardation. It is caused by a defective gene and a child is affected only if both parents are carriers of the defective gene. |
